ScopeMeter® 190C/2x5C Series v8 Firmware. Upgrade: Why a wrong update everywhere?!
Can Anybody from Fluke (Etc.) please explain why the Fluke 190C V7.0.6.exe upgrade is still on, while it says a v8.0.4. update is available? Was there maybe a problem with the software? I even re-installed it to make sure it was indeed, against all odds v7.0.6. (LOL!)
Google it... This "mistake?" is currently everywhere. Some sites of Fluke are totally outdated (By years!) with their software etc... Yet, it gives the maintenance-date as 2009?! [Nasty!]
Thank you.
One of the many links. Please click here: Fluke 190C Upgrate to V8.04

I just upgraded to the v7.0.6 last week and also noticed the indication of v8. Due to time, I did not research any more.
Just a little confusing.....

Hi!
Ironically enough is the v7.0.6 update you just installed, more than a year old!
I've been waiting for the latest "exe-update", for a while now... (Errors.)

I rarely use the Scopemeter now so I don't stay on top of things like I once did......

In my understanding, the V8.04 is an upgrade for the 215C and 225C Scopemeters whereas the V7.06 is an upgrade for the 190-series. By the way, the 190-series is the "basic" version of the Scopemeter, and the 2x5C is just a 190C enhanced with industrial bus test capability.

That was not my point nor question though...
LOL! b.t.w., the Fluke 199C (Part of the 190 C series) is not a basic version of the scopemeter series.
Regardless, you are really not correct there, it surely includes the 19XC too. V8.0.4 Upgrade: A firmware upgrade for ScopeMeter test tool 190C/2x5 Series is available, major changes are:
Several issues on CAN, FF and Profibus DP have been resolved (2x5C only)
F2 is disabled in eye-pattern button bar when bus health is off (2x5C only)
Fixed Dot-join status after leaving bushealth mode (2x5C only)
Fixed Trigger status indication after leaving bushealth mode (2x5C only)
No data banner no longer appears when wiring diagram is shown (2x5C only)
Fixed recall function, not correctly recalling screen + data
Fixed TrendPlot Save. UI only showed Screen + setting not Recording
Fixed Trend storage.

That upgrade is posted at Fluke USA also but if you look at the filename if you download it's still v7.06. Still confusing!

Maybe you didn't notice but there are effectively three 199C Scopemeter versions: the "basic", the medical and the 225C. The 225C, for example, is a disguised 199C with additional capabilities for bus testing.

Note that the almost all fixings of V8.04 are related to issues of the 2x5C series. So, even if the V8.04 firmware works with the 190C series, it doesn't seem to be a significant upgrade for the "basic" 190C series. That is what I meant in my previous post.

Sorry, what's the real point you are trying to make [again] please?
PS What you put to me, I really, do know very well. What you talk about and what I inquired about is surely not the same thing.

My point is simple: if Fluke were sure that V8.04 is already bug-free, the V7.06 would have removed from its website. However, as V7.06 continues to be offered, that it is a clear indication that V8.0x firmware hasn’t stabilized yet.
My conclusions:
1) If you have a 190C-series Scopemeter but don't like adventures, stick to the V7.06 firmware that appears to be bug-free.
2) If you have a 2x5C Scopemeter, you have no choice but to load the V8.04 firmware.
3) If you have a 190C and are a brave man, try the 8.04 now but don't forget to tell us any problems you are having with it
