Hey Rain
That first link, has everything under the sun for adapters. I have got a few wierd adapters off of eBay. If you can think of something that would want to connect to.....eBay has it. However dont plan of having to long. I got ton's of adapters here and I got most on eBay for a buck.........(HongKong)

bottom line buy a computer with a rs 232 port...your problems will be solved...i just cant understand why computer companies dont make laptops withrs 232 there still seems to be a huge demand for it

That's a bit hard to find. Like I mentioned above, Dell did but no longer offers a laptop with a RS232 port.

I think rs 232 connections are a thing of the past. They are being phased out slowly but surely. Its like a floppy disc of the 80s. Usb technology is taking over.

Probably the last four or five devices that I bought that have a PC connection were all RS232 and that includes the AEMC 1060.

Really when it comes to the stuff I have, like meters device everything has USB...the only thing I have that is rs232 that I need to use is PLC comm cable.

It's the cable and software support of the USB. Not knowing much about the programming end of this, I don't know difficult or expensive that would be to add USB support.

Of course, it's a added cost to the end user for a new cable and maybe the cost of a software upgrade too.
