Default Does the ® in ScopeMeter® mean something?

I remember when a Scopemeter was a very special instrument made by Fluke. Nowdays, however, it appears that Scopemeter became a sort of a generic name. Indeed, there is a lot of “scopemeters” out there:

Scopemeter in eBay

Take a look at the pages 2 and 3 in particular, and you'll understand what I mean.

Thats simply marketing.

Fluke is known by this Scopemeters, so everyone already call a portable oscilloscope as Scopemeter. In order to atract more possible customers, they put the name Scopemeter because is the first work someone looking for a portable oscilloscope will write, again because of the sucess of Fluke in that instrument area.
