the back lighting has quit on my 289...anyone else have this problem?

I have had mine since Feb of 2009 and it still works fine.

The backlight on my 289 didn't work out of the box. Fluke had the supplier give me another one and it has been working just fine.

sending it in for rma. hopefully it doesnt take long my only back up meter is an ideal clamp meter!

Nothing against Fluke, but probably when the warranty expires.

At least that's how things usually happen to me.

i might be wrong but i think the warantee on the 289 is 7 years after they discontinue the meter. hopefully they keep it in production for awhile.

Fluke 289 have very dark display. You have to use backlight all the time. Any other meter which I use haven't this annoying feature. It's hard to see anything without backlight.

Adjust your contrast.
