I know what they are for and how to use them but I'm talking about do you use them for new constrution or PM work or troubleshooting. How often are they used and are they worth the price. Or should I say is there a good return of investment? It looks to me like this is the least used thread and that there is maybe a reason for it, like no one dose this kind of work much or there isnt a demand for it or who knows what but this thread is dead and it looks like this should be needed service being that bad grounding can be a major reason for bad PQ. All resposes welcome

The lighting protection guys use ground testing more than most electrical contractors and usually do the site ground resistance testing in our area. by NEC code if you drive two ground rods and tie in all other grounding electrodes available you do not need to test to verify 25ohms to ground most contractors just drive two ground rods and call it good. I bought a ground clamp resistance meter 4 years ago and have only used it maybe once a year its cheaper to rent a meter too a project then to buy one.
